First Beijing

First Beijing is a research-driven investment firm that uses a fundamental approach to uncover value in China. They were in need of a clean and professional WordPress website to help their brand build credibility within their market. They chose Monument Studio to design & develop their website using the latest web design trends and modern development practices. A requirement of this website build was to include a translation plugin that would allow for English and Chinese versions of the website.

First Beijing came into the project with an established brand, including logo, color palette and polished website copy. Upon their delivery of brand assets, we got to work on the website design using their description of what they were looking for: a clean, simple, sophisticated website that presented their firm in a positive and modern light.

Per the project objectives, we completed the website design & prototyping, custom WordPress website theme development, and migration to their own web hosting platform in China. (If visiting their website form the USA, the site will load slowly due to being hosted in China without a CDN, per the client’s request.)

Components that make this website unique include the WordPress Multilingual plug-in, the subtle loading and page-scrolling animations of content components, a sleek and modern timeline of the company, and custom map artwork displaying the areas and countries in which their clients reside.

The First Beijing website is custom-built on a custom WordPress theme, using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) PRO as the Content Management System (CMS). We used the Gutenberg block library and employed SaaS for styling, with Animate On Scroll (AOS) and vanilla JavaScript for animations and interactions.
